  • She has also been responsible for the coordination and supervision of less experienced team members in charge of CO-PA implementation. Her CO-PA extensive knowledge allowed her to highlight limitation of the module to meet business requirements, helping the business to make the decision to de-scope the module and requested her to make a complete impact analysis (functionality and budget) cross modules to present clear picture of pros and cons.
  •  She has also been ensuring that core model was meeting business requirements of activity ‘Energy Management’, by analyzing business requirements and ensuring that core model was covering business requirements. She specifically covered both FI and CO as well as integration aspects: New GL functionality, AA, AR/AP, PS, SD, MM.

  • During her assignment she also had high exposure on more technical tasks such as layout definition for upload interface using BAPI functionality, creation of validation and substitution rules based on an EBL In-House concept involving lot’s of local developments & programs. Involvement in data migration effort for Purchase Order, SES, GR/IR as well as pure Financial data for which she used her extensive knowledge in logistic integration processes with Finance as to make completion of tasks she had in charge as smooth as possible.

Finance Business Process Advisor  – FICO modules & Integration Expert (Release 4.6C)

  • Since the system configuration was outsourced to a team located in Malaysia, Patricia used her extensive SAP knowledge to write functional (Vanilla SAP) and technical (Report & ABAP Program) specification accordingly and handed them over. Budget, feasibility and time constraints were always taken into consideration to ensure that business requirements were met and delivered in a timely manner.
  • In each one of the area she had under her responsibility, Patricia also had to define, write, run/coordinate unit and integrated test scenarios.
  • She used her broad integration knowledge to ensure that any other implemented functionality impacting the Finance area was well integrated (Payroll, Order to Cash, Requisition to Pay etc.)
  • After data migration and Go-live which took place in India, (Nov 2006) Patricia accepted to provide on-site post-support Go-live. She collected issues and forwarded them to relevant BPA if she wasn’t able to solve them by herself.
  • She also helped solving day-to-day business issues and was contributing to the on-boarding of Finance team members by providing Business process and SAP trainings.

Smiths Aerospace (Aerospace & Defence) – Cheltenham (UK)

SAP Senior Consultant – FICO modules & Integration Expert (Release 4.7)

  • Patricia integrated the Account to Report team as an FI-CO and integration expert and had to validate, develop, and test a solution able to incorporate, upload financial trial balances and management information from the Asia Pacific systems into the SAP core design. She organized, facilitated and lead the SAP financial workshops which took place in Australia and was able to define/validate the required SAP structure, master data creation and data mapping necessary to support the solution (company codes, GL accounts, Cost elements, Cost Centre, Profit Centre, Customer master data, currency, financial statement version etc.).
  • Due to her extensive knowledge of Finance business practice and SAP technical knowledge she was able in various areas, such as Project Accounting, FI, CO, SD-MM to investigate, provide recommendations on what caused an issue and how to solve it. (Result analysis, Inter-company process etc.).
  • She was also asked to develop a business case in which she had to highlight whether or not the ‘Asia Pacific’ light solution could be extended to small sites which system couldn’t support the SAP core design. April 2003 – March 2005

Bayer Corporate (HealthCare) – Pittsburgh (USA)

SAP Senior Consultant – CO module (CO-PA) & Integration Expert (Release 4.6C)

  • Patricia integrated the Business Controlling team as the CO-PA and integration expert between CO (CO-OM, CO-PCA & CO-PA) and the various SAP modules such as FI, CO-PC, SD, MM, PS and PM. She organized, facilitated and lead number of cross SAP functionalities’ workshops which result in designing the best solution to implement basic (direct sale, third party drop-shipment, refurbishment orders etc) and complex business processes (inter-company, inter company consignment, SWAPS, import etc.). All her design recommendations were always considering budget, resources and timeline constraints.
  • Due to her knowledge of the Bayer culture, business practice and guidelines, she was able to check or help checking that all the business processes designed across modules were compliant with the Bayer global guidelines and the local Client requirements. In that respect she coordinated early integration steps, while running the unit test phase, and checked each result from a logistic and financial stand point before the Sales and Distribution team actually started their integration phase of the project. This early check helped highlighting in each SAP area any design issues and solution that would lead to design the best integrated solution.
  • Patricia was also a key player in the definition, implementation and deployment of the service design for the Bayer Corporate and Business Service Company (BCBS) which was then extended to the other Bayer companies selling services. Her project experience, expertise and knowledge of the SAP Dynamic Item Processor (DIP) functionality and integration with other SAP modules (SD, PS, PM and FICO) allowed her to guide and educate other team members and business people during each phase: blueprint, implementation, unit / integration testing and post-support go-live. In order to meet legal standards such as the IAS 11 or US GAAP rule related to Revenue Recognition for big projects, she designed and implemented various result analysis key to be assigned to PS and SD objects.
  • She helped developing the closing schedule and was part of the financial month-end closing go-live support.

She then implemented the technical solution and conducted the unit and integration testing phases before releasing to the production environment. The CO-PA budget business main requirement was to retrieve the sales volume from the SOP tool (Sales & Operations Planning) which implied the Patricia understood both functional and technical aspects of this SAP functionality. She developed a complete documentation on this subject and organized various transfer knowledge sessions.
  • From a management stand point, Patricia contributed in developing the different tools that were used by management in order to track the progress of the project (issue log, weekly status report…).

Jul 2001 – June 2002

Bayer Diagnostics (HealthCare) – Düsseldorf (Germany)

SAP Senior Consultant – CO module (CCA-OPA-PCA-COPA) (Release 4.6B)

  • Patricia was the lead CO consultant in the Bayer Diagnostics implementation. She was responsible for all aspects of the CO implementation. On this project there was a vast amount of non – standard SAP functionality required to meet the Client’s complex reporting requirements. It was particularly challenging and rewarding to learn and integrate Service Orders with EC-PCA and CO-PA (Profitability analysis – Accounting based and costing based). Close and effective communication with other project teams was essential to ensure that the Diagnostics System was compliant with the groups’ guidelines and global template. Patricia proved to be a strong and key team member in this area because she took it upon herself to learn the end to end processes rather than just her own module.
  • She was involved in the Contract (SD-Contract module) design, Service (Plant maintenance module), Asset (AA module) and Plants abroad design that took place.
  • She was also involved in all the different phases of the project life cycle including Blueprinting, Design, Unit Testing and Integration Testing plus post Go-Live support. In the integration test phase she ensured that the integration to the COPA module was in accordance with Client Requirements. She ensured that the SIEBEL interface to SAP created a Service Order with the correct Master Data to allow correct Functional Area determination for Cost of Sales Accounting. The process used at Diagnostics was a non standard SAP process and a solution was not possible using Standard SAP. Consequently SAP wrote a bespoke enhancement to solve the problem.
  • She also designed and implemented most of the CO month-end closing activities. Especially she was challenging the reconciliation between CO-PA Account-based and CO-PA Costing based.
  • As all Financial reporting was BW driven there was substantial data extraction of CO-PA data. Patricia extended herself to great lengths to ensure that the reporting requirements were fulfilled to the requirements of both the BW team and the client with minimal impact on the BW Team.
  • Patricia was instrumental in the first deployment of the single billing entity solution and also in the SAP support Go-live for the 2 first countries ‘rolled out’ (Belgium and the Netherlands). Simultaneously she was also working on the next two rollouts - Spain and Portugal. She also performed Go-live support for these 2 countries.
